A native of Alexandria, MN, Dr. Darveaux received his Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University – Collegeville, MN (1976) and Master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University (1977). Early in his career, Dr. Darveaux worked as a school psychologist in Alexandria, MN (internship), Rosemount, MN, and Minot, ND. After five years of providing school psychology services, Dr. Darveaux returned to graduate school and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, specializing in School Psychology* (1986).  Additional training and experience has allowed him to expand his skills to clinical areas of practice.

Dr. Darveaux is licensed to practice psychology in North Dakota (#202) and Minnesota (LP # 5232). He has experience evaluating all major childhood/adolescent psychiatric, psychological, and learning disorders including ADHD/ADD, reactive attachment disorder, depression, anxiety, autistic spectrum disorders, and the disruptive behaviors that frequently accompany these conditions.

Within the scope of his more than 30 years of private independent practice, Dr. Darveaux has worked as a consultant, evaluator and therapist for numerous special education cooperatives, individual school districts, the Dakota Boy’s and Girl’s Ranch, juvenile justice systems, and sheltered workshops for the developmentally disabled.

In addition to private independent practice as a licensed psychologist, Dr. Darveaux has taught both undergraduate and graduate classes in special education and psychology as well as provided in-service training workshops for teachers, parents, and community organizations.

Dr. Darveaux has been happily married for 41 years, has three adult sons, and seven grandchildren. When not engaged in professional functions, he enjoys his family, various outdoor activities, and glass art.
